Mood Board for colours and fonts
Here is my mood board for colours and fonts, as you can see, the main colours used are; black, white, red and blue. I think this will make the magazine look sleek and modern.
Media Kit
Here is my media kit which shows the things that would be associated with my audience for my magazine. This would allow me to see the advertising revenue stream, meaning, I could advertise these things in my magazine as they would relate to the reader.

First draft of double page spread article
FOSCAR made up of two students from
Norwich are creating a real buzz in the industry, but what makes them different to any other teenage musicians trying to make it big? We investigate to see what the fuss is all about....
With their jangly, indie sounds, they are definitely not the typical 16 year olds trying to be the likes of Justin Beiber and N-Dubz, but instead are creating their own identity and have been acclaimed as “A very refreshing pair, with a great talent and future” by The Daily Mail. There are lots of youngsters around at the moment, who all seem to sound the same, with no originality
and all fall into the same bracket of boring, however, boring is certainly not a word you could use to describe the pair. “Whats the point in doing what everyone else does, you just turn into a robot” States Oscar Knights, who never fails to speak his mind. The pair however never fail to state their admiration for bands such as The Stone Roses and The Smiths. “Yeah we really like both The Stone Roses and The Smiths. They weren’t trying to impress the mass market, much like us.”
Gathering quite the reputation for being very controversial and like ‘marmite’ according to guitarist Fergus Bobby.“We don’t really care if people like us. Were not going to stop making music if a few people criticise us.”
FOSCAR never fail to disappoint fans either, bringing out their debut album- la plage, and
gaining rave reviews. “Yeah the album was good. We really enjoyed
making it and people seemed to like it which was great”.Says Fergus Bobby. “A lot of people have asked where the name came from actually but plage translates to beach in French and we were actually at the beach when we decided to form the band, and as Oscar is half French, it just fits really.” The two have been tipped as the ‘spearhead of young music’ are unquestionably talented and have a gift for music, however they have been criticised of being ‘immature’ by Chris Martin from Coldplay. “They don’t know how to act at the moment, you can tell they are still young as the way they act is very immature.” Oscar however, as outspoken as always replied “Yeah we love banter, he’s probably a bit too old to understand.”
The pair are rumoured to be playing at Latitude festival in 2012 along side greats like Morrissey and Arcade Fire. With some really exciting times ahead you would expect the pair to be very confident about themselves, however they are keeping their feet firmly on the ground. “Were doing okay at the moment and were loving the music were making and having a great time, but we know how quickly peoples opinions change, we’ll enjoy it while it lasts”. Who knows how far the pair will go, one thing is for sure though is that they will be very entertaining along the way. ᗿ

Details of Location, props and models
For my images I mainly used rural locations for example for my double page spread I decided to use an old industrial container for the background. I thought this was interesting as the colour of the container was a bright blue which I was able to match to aspects of the double page spread article.
I also used a rural location for the contents page as I have two models walking down a street which I thought was interesting and I was able to catch the models while they were in natural circumstances which connoted the musicians were still an up and coming band, which is what the magazine promotes.
The only image which I did not use a rural location was on my front cover when I used the music studio as I needed a white background therefore I was able to edit the image to make the image look suitable for the magazine. Also the way I cropped the background out allowed me to make the image look more professional as the background looked too amateur.
